New Year, Same you, Good God.

The new year often feels like a giant restart. There’s so much pressure to set bold, aggressive goals to change yourself, your situation, or even your family. The weight of the resolution trend can be overwhelming, especially when you’ve struggled to follow through year after year. BUT what if we simply kept moving forward? What if we set aside all these new expectations and focused on who the Lord has already created us to be? Wanting to start something new isn’t a bad thing, but when it becomes an obsession, it can turn into idolatry. What starts as something good can easily become a distraction and a disconnect from our Savior.

Instead of getting caught up in the January hype of “New Year, New Me,” what if we embraced the idea that we are the same person, but now investing in the only one who can truly change our hearts? Real transformation comes from an identity rooted in our Creator, who loves us deeply and desires closeness with His daughters.

One thing I’m resolving to do this year is to spend more time with my Father, listening to what He wants me to do each day.

Sometimes, reading the Bible and praying can feel overwhelming—especially if you’re a new believer or have never really taken the time to dive into God’s Word. A great way to start is with a guided Bible study! I highly recommend The Bible Recap—it’s an amazing resource. You can find the plan on the Bible app and listen to the podcast on any platform. The study takes you through the Bible in chronological order (the best part is, it’s all FREE!). My women’s Bible study group is doing this study together this year.

My heart behind this post is to encourage you to take a breath and be at peace with where the Lord has you right now. You are not behind. You are not failing. You are exactly where you need to be today for the Lord to transform you. Lean into Him this season and let Him shape and mold those areas of your life where you desire real change.

And if no one has told you today—YOU ARE LOVED, and an amazing mom!

Your friend,
Katie
